We spent the month of October and part of December in Marion, NC making several trips to the mountains in the area and enjoying the weather as Fall settled in. The girls really enjoyed the freedom of the wide open fields, fun playground, trail along the river, and great biking areas.
We were finally able to enjoy a sky full of stars since we were so far from larger cities, and enjoyed our first of many campfires on this new adventure.
People often ask us how hard it is to be away from family. In actuality, since we have gotten on the road, we believe time spent with family has improved. While we may not see family as often, our time together is far more valuable. Before we might visit for an evening and then get back into our busy routine. Now we are able to spend a few days at a time visiting with those we love, and often sharing a piece of our adventure with them. Here we managed to spend the better part of a week with the girls grandparents as neighbors. One perk was that it happened to coincide with Halloween. It is so much fun to share the creation of so many new memories with those most important to us.
