Mingo Falls - Cherokee, NC

Updated: Mar 3, 2018

If you love waterfalls then you must plan a visit to the mountains of Western North Carolina. There are literally hundreds in the area and many are short easy hikes allowing you to visit more than one in a day.

A level 2 mile hike from our camp ground at Yogi in the Smokies leads to the Mingo Falls trail head. If you don't want to add that 4 miles round trip to your hike there is ample parking at the trail head. The trail itself is a short 1/4 mile hike. The beginning is steep with a little over 150 steps but after that it is very level leading to a pretty wooden bridge that crosses the creek providing wonderful views of the falls.

About Us

We are Seth & Laura and this is our story of why we decided to rewrite our life as we travel with our 2 little girls. We aren’t entirely sure where the story is going, but we do know it is an adventure tale filled with campfires, moonlit nights, animal encounters of all shapes and sizes, and lots of fun. Perhaps our story will inspire you to tear up your life’s manuscript and live out some of your own dreams, but at a minimum, if you have found this site, we hope it brings a little joy to your day.
